  One day a man was going to town on an elephant. On the road he met five blind men. They were beggars.
“Step aside!” 1 shouted the man. “Don’t you see an elephant in front of you? He’ll crush you down.”
The beggars quickly stepped aside and one of them said:
“How can we know if there is an elephant in front of us? We are blind as a noonday owl.”
The second beggar said: “I want to know what an elephant looks like.”

THE CUNNING JACKAL.
One day a young tiger got caught in a cage.
He roared loudly and tried to free himself, but try hard as he could he could not do it as the cage was too strong for him.
It so happened that at that time a man was passing by. When the tiger saw him, he began to try as tigers do when they are very, very hungry.

“Oh, my kind master, have pity on me, set me free.” “No,” said the man. “If I set you free, you’ll eat me up.”
“Not for the world, my kind man! I give you my word I shall never again touch any man or animal. From this day on and until the last days of my life I shall work for man and I shall be as faithful to him as a dog.”
“Well,” said the man, “if you promise, and if you give me your word, I’ll let you go.”
And with these words he opened the cage and set the tiger free. But as soon as the man opened the door of the cage the tiger jumped out, pushed the man down and roared: “Oh, you fool, I’ll eat you up now!”
