Kernel One, O’Neill R., 1978.

   Kernel One is organised around a number of characters and a story line. This story line develops gradually, and at first revolves only around the main themes of the book (eg travel, finding a place to live, getting a job etc). But towards the end it becomes an exciting kidnap plot involving all the characters in the book.
Kernel One has a careful structural progression with specific communicative aims. The language presented is relevant for such operations as introducing yourself, asking where other people live and work, expressing requests, making suggestions, giving simple instructions and much more. However, the language is presented progressively, so that learners gradually acquire both insight into the structure of the language, and creative, independent control of what they want to say.
The book has eighteen mam units and one final summing-up unit In addition, there are at the end of the book five special two-page units designed to give extra practice in reading and writing.

Children’s Illustrated Thesaurus, 2017.

   The Children’s Illustrated Thesaurus is easy to use when you want to find a synonym to improve your writing. Synonyms are words that can have the same meaning as other words – see page 6 for more information.

   IELTS Language Practice is a reference and practice book for students preparing for the IELTS examination. It provides clear grammar explanations and regular practice units to consolidate the grammar points in a wider context. There are themed vocabulary units that contextualize essential words and phrases, offering a variety of exercise types students will encounter in the IELTS exam.

There are 26 units in the book: 13 grammar units and 13 vocabulary units.

Macmillan English Grammar In Context, Clarke S., 2008.

   This book is designed to teach and revise grammar points at the level of Council of Europe Framework (CEF) A1, A2 and includes some B1 grammar.
The practice material includes a wide range of topics to reflect both everyday language use and the kinds of subjects learners might be studying in schools or colleges. Many learners are likely to use English to learn another subject during their education and the choice of text tries to reflect this fact. Some texts contain information which learners should find interesting or challenging. The intention in general is that language should have a familiar context and that learners should have something to use language for.

Principles of Language Learning and Teaching, Brown H.D., 2007.

   Since its first publication in 1980, Principles of Language Learning and Teaching, here in its fifth edition, has served a number of purposes for many audiences around the world. For graduates or advanced undergraduates in languageteacher education programs, it is a textbook on the theoretical foundations of language teaching, a survey of what research has revealed about how human beings acquire a second language. For a surprising number of people it has become a book that Master's degree candidates pore over in preparation for the SLA section of their comprehensive examinations or for references for their thesis research. For experienced teachers, it has become a handbook that provides an overview of current issues in the field with an index and bibliographic entries to aid in that overview.
