   English expressions and phrasal verbs are found everywhere in the English language. In fact, in order to become truly conversant in English, the student have a reasonable ‘vocabulary’ of English expressions. The correct use of English expressions in English communication can sometimes be difficult because of their unpredictable nature. This text was written as a quick reference guide, textbook, and primer, to help students quickly find and correct problem areas. The book was written for intermediate through advanced English learners.

   The Cambridge Checkpoint Mathematics course covers the Cambridge Secondary 1 Mathematics framework.
The course is divided into three stages: 7, 8 and 9. This Practice Book can be used with Coursebook 7. It is intended to give you extra practice in all the topics covered in the Coursebook.
Like the Coursebook, the Practice Book is divided into 19 units. In each unit you will find an exercise for every topic. These exercises contain similar questions to the corresponding exercises in the Coursebook.

   This book deals with the construction of English from elementary to advanced level. This book was begun in response to a need in English as second or foreign language course. This book explains what is grammatical and what is not. It teaches how to acquire the grammatical patterns and gives enough practice in the use of acceptable patterns. Native language books cannot serve the purpose for foreign students. Native speakers acquire a language naturally. Foreigners may find certain topics difficult to understand for example, a native speaker need not be explained the difference between can and may, but a foreigner has to be explained this difference. A foreigner can have a problem using a present perfect or a past verb form. The points which the students of English find particularly difficult, e.g. auxiliary verbs, state verbs, modals, the difference between certain similar words, are dealt carefully and in detail. A list of collocations with prepositions is also given so that the students can learn and use them correctly. Many students are uncertain about when to use an apostrophe. It is a very easy to use punctuation mark, yet students have difficulty with it. Care has been taken to explain how to get it right.

Essentials of Mastering English, A Concise Grammar, Bache C., 2000.

   This grammar covers much the same ground as its predecessor, Mastering English: an Advanced Grammar for Non-native and Native Students by Niels Davidsen-Nielsen and myself, but it is aimed specifically at undergraduate students of English (native and non-native) at universities, business schools and teachers' training colleges. It is correspondingly less detailed, and difficult topics have been made more easily accessible. Readers of Essentials of Mastering English who are interested in more detailed discussions and in references to the works on which they are based should consult Mastering English.

Artificial Intelligence for Marketing, Practical Applications, Sterne J., 2017.

   Forewords to books can play a variety of roles. One is to describe in more general terms what the book is about. That’s not really necessary, since Jim Sterne is a master at communicating complex topics in relatively simple terms.
Another common purpose is to describe how the book fits into the broader literature on the topic. That doesn’t seem necessary in this case, either, since there isn’t much literature on artificial intelligence (AI) for marketing, and even if there were, you’ve probably turned to this book to get one easy-to-consume source.
